About Us

We seek out African creatives who instigate positive change through design and art.

Design233 explores the architecture, art, and design ofAfrica and the African diaspora, and their intersections with culture, history, context and sustainability. The publication looks at how these interactions have shaped the continent’s built environment by highlighting and celebrating the work of African design practitioners and creatives.

Coined from Ghana's international code '233' as an homage to its founder’s birth country, Design233 is a platform for generating conversations with and within the African design community whilst creating a documentation portal for the next generation of African designers.
