Colorful fabrics, patterns, symbolic motifs, drums, kente, earth and thatch; rhythm, rites, festivals, cultural and social lifestyle with a warm tropical climate all translated into the spatial dimension; overlays of western influences through colonization and from Africans exposed to western cultures who define the Afropolitan style- This is Ghana. Its art and built environment is rich with history, from the traditional to the contemporary. Design 233, coined from the Ghana's international code '233', simply represents design within Ghana. Design 233 is a journey through time revealing the rich overlays in the design culture of the country. It is an eye into the great works of art (artistic works) and buildings of Ghana and the key people creating them.
